You may be charged for DUI Drugs if your ability to drive is impaired.  If a police officer believes you are impaired due to drugs, the officer will take you to the station to be evaluated by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE).  The DRE follows a 12 step procedure.  This includes agility tests, inspection for injection marks, examination of your nose, a blood test or urine test and inquiries about what drugs you have been taking.   At the conclusion, the DRE makes an evaluation on whether to charge you for DUI Drugs.  At the trial, this same DRE will appear as a witness against you using the evaluation to secure your conviction.
